Hundreds of volunteers are giving of their time to help make the Memorial Cup tournament in Windsor a successful one.
About 500 signed up to staff the fan zones at the WFCU Centre, welcome guests, be hotel ambassadors and drive visitors around the city.
They also took part in one of three training sessions to prepare.
Volunteer Co-ordinator Niva Segato says the volunteers are critical for the success of the event. "Their time is precious, time they are going to spend away from their family and here to make the city of Windsor and to make the event a huge success."
The second part of a five-part series, Inside The Mastercard Memorial Cup, will examine the volunteers. That will air today on AM800 at 7:20am, 12:40pm and 5:50pm.
