A woman who worked as a trainer for the Humboldt Broncos hockey team and was on a bus that crashed last week, has died.
The family of Dayna Brons says the 25-year-old died this afternoon in Saskatoon hospital from injuries sustained in last Friday's crash.
Her death brings the total number of dead to 16.
The woman's family says she will be remembered for her smile and her love of sports and say she was very proud to be part of the Broncos team.
The team was on its way to a playoff game when the bus collided with a semi truck at an intersection near Tisdale, Sask.
Rural politicians in the area want changes made at the remote intersection where half a dozen crosses had already been erected to remember six members of one family who died in a collision at the same intersection over 20 years ago.
Now area residents are demanding changes at the intersection of Highway 35 and a secondary highway.
On the ice, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League will resume its playoffs.
The league was in the difficult position of deciding how to proceed but says the championship series between the Estevan Bruins and the Nipawin Hawks will start on Saturday.
The president of the Broncos wanted the playoffs to continue, saying playing hockey is part of the healing process.
