Windsor-Essex will get a brief break from high temperatures this week.
Environment Canada's Gerald Chang says the hot air mass that brought yet another heat warning to the region will give way to a cold front Tuesday.
Chang says that air mass will also bring some rain, but it won't last.
"That will give us some relief in terms of temperatures and the level of humidity, but as we head into mid-week another surge of warm air will come back into southwestern Ontario so we'll be back into the 30's for daytime highs," he says.
Chang says to expect things to be much more comfortable heading into September.
"Temperatures should be around 25C, so looking ahead, even into early September, it looks like we'll stick around the seasonal mark and not deviate from it too much," added Chang.
He says to expect a few more thunder storms as kids head back to school.
"There's still that possibility of severe thunderstorms. Even looking into September we can still see warm temperatures," Chang says. "We say that it's going to be seasonal but that doesn't mean there won't be warm stretches."
Temperatures are expected to climb above 30C again on Wednesday.
