The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County has received some new wheels.
The Moroun Family and the Ambassador Bridge Company have donated two new Windsor-built Dodge Grand Caravans for its transportation program.
"It is just such a great organization and you know it is something they really needed and obviously, very much appreciated," says Stan Korosec, bridge company spokesperson. "It is a real nice feeling."
The Hospice Fairley Family Transportation Program provides over 8,500 rides every year to patients and their caregivers for medical appointments, treatments and to attend programs at the Hospice Wellness centre.
Hospice Executive Director Carol Derbyshire says it was a very generous donation.
"They didn't even ask us," joked Derbyshire. "They did all this themselves so they could just deliver it to hospice and we had nothing to do but accept it and say thank you."

She says one of the vans will be going to Leamington as it starts its day programs and the other vehicle will be shared with Kingsville.
It brings the total number of vans at hospice for its transportation program to five.
It has 16 volunteer drivers who log in over 6,000 hours on the road annually.
