Tony Parker also pitched in with 24 points off the bench for Charlotte, which has won three of its last four NBA games to improve to 7-and-6.
Andre Drummond had 23 points and 22 rebounds for Detroit, which had its two-game winning streak snapped to fall to 6-and-6.
Reggie Bullock also scored 23 points in defeat. Blake Griffin was held to 10 points on 4-of-16 shooting.
Detroit, which fell to .500 on the season at 6-and-6. The Pistons are in Toronto Wednesday to play the Raptors.
