Sales are up for homes in Windsor-Essex for the month of September.
According to the latest statistics from the Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors, 553 homes were sold -- up 8.9% from September of last year.
The average sale price last month was $217,000 -- up almost 11% from the same month in 2015.
Local real estate agent Dan Gemus says this is not always a good thing for realtors.
"Everyone assumes that a hot market like this that realtors just love it, but it's the absolute opposite. Like we often talk about our show on Sunday mornings, it's a good time for sellers, but it's a bad time for buyers. So this is why we're hoping that the market continues on current trend and starts slowing down a little bit."
Gemus says it's a seller's market, but it's harder for buyers.
"It's much better than the beginning of the year when we were seeing 25% increases, 18-25% increases in the month of March, April, May and June. It's slowing down a little bit but it's still crazy out there, realtors are still have a very hard time finding homes for their buyers. Although we do see it reversing a little bit the last few months."
For the nine months of this year, sales total more than 5,400 -- an increase of 12.6% from last year.
