Hogan spent 17-years as a secondary teacher before taking the job as president.
He will be replaced by Joe Brannagan.
Hogan says he had a good run.
"The best part about being active in the union is helping out the membership, that's the job taking care of the people," says Hogan.
Hogan will stay on as the president for the local labour council.
