You will soon be able to tour the Hiram Walker and Sons distillery in Windsor.
Beginning April 1, WindsorEats is offering tours in partnership with Corby Spirit and Wine Limited. People will be able to take part and see the grain to glass experience.
Co-owner of WindsorEats Adriano Ciotoli wants to emphasize this is NOT a tour of the Canadian Club Brand Centre which is stopping tours March 31st. Ciotoli says the Hiram Walker distillery tours give people who are passionate whisky lovers a hands-on look at how world class Canadian whisky is made. In fact, the tickets for the first three months of the tours have already been sold out but Ciotoli hopes to add more tours.
Ciotoli says it will be the first time in over 16 years that people will be able to get a behind-the-scene look.
"They haven't done public tours in the distillery since the year 2000 so we are very fortunate that Corby's is wanting to work with us to showcase their product and their brand," says Ciotoli.
Within five hours of announcing the tours, tickets for the first three months were sold out. Ciotoli expects to add more tours soon.
"We are actually in the middle of talking about expanding the tour dates and offering more tours, so we are hoping by the beginning of next week, we will have more dates to announce, fingers crossed," he says.
The tours will be part of the "Drinks of Walkerville" walking tour. Tickets for the tour will be available here.
