A small car striking a deer on the 401 led to a multi-vehicle pileup.
Provincial police responded to the eastbound 401 just east of the Comber exit around 10:20 pm Sunday May 26.
A small red car hit a deer and ended up in the middle lane having suffered extensive damage.
That car was sideswiped by another vehicle which ended up veering into a transport truck.
A fourth vehicle , a minivan, then rear-ended the first vehicle.
The driver of the initial red vehicle suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The minivan driver was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours while the damaged vehicles were removed.
Police don't expect to lay charges.
