A flood watch has been issued for most of Windsor-Essex.
The Essex Region Conservation Authority says strong winds out of the east combined with high water levels raise the potential for flooding along the shoreline areas of Lake St. Clair, Lake Erie, the Detroit River and Pelee Island.
Environment Canada is predicting wind speeds could increase up to 40km/hr Saturday night with frequent gusts exceeding 50km/hr lasting into Sunday morning.
ERCA is urging residents to take extra caution around rivers, streams, and shoreline areas.
The flood watch is in effect until 12pm Sunday.
