The historic water levels in the Detroit River have forced WindsorEats to postpone its annual Dinner on a Pier.
The gourmet dining experience is normally held in July and hosts 120 diners on a pier located alongside the Ambassador Bridge.
Organizer Adriano Ciotoli met with city officials, and it was recommended to postpone the event, due to the threat of high water levels.
Ciotoli says experts are indicating that water levels within the Detroit River will continue to rise over the next couple weeks, so they will postpone the event to ensure everyone's safety.
The new tentative date has been scheduled for September 12, 2019.
Ciotoli adds this culinary tourism experience is meant to showcase the waterfront and the city at its best, and they would not be able to do that with high water levels and potential flooding.
Individuals who have purchased tickets for the sold out dinner will be given the opportunity to refund their tickets should they be unavailable for the new date.
