Representatives from Bell Canada say "Fibre to the Home" in Amherstburg is ahead of schedule.
Senior Manager of Network Provisioning, Darin Meek says work continues to bring high-speed fibre Internet to every home in the municipality.
"We started actually delivering homes and making service available the first of July to residents," says Meek. "One of the first communities to turn up was the area of Point West."
Bell is picking up the bill for the project which is expected to cost more than $12-million.

Meek says the work will continue until June 2020.
"We're a bit ahead of schedule on where we were initially planning to be, which is good," says Meek. "We continue to work on that and try to remove any roadblocks in advance whenever we see them and can identify them."
The service will be available to rural and urban customers.
