Darren Helm will be out of Detroit's line up for six weeks after an incident in last night's game vs. Tampa Bay.
Helm was "upended" by Tampa defenceman Nikita Nesterov in the third period, with Helm falling on his shoulder.
According to The Detroit News, Wings GM, Ken Holland says Helm underwent an MRI for an upper body injury.
In 17 games this season, Helm has four goals and three assists with a team-best plus-6 rating.
The Wings are back in action on Friday in Washington.
