It's going to be a very wet weekend across Windsor-Essex.
A Special Weather Statement has been issued by Environment Canada which is calling for several rounds of heavy rain and some thunderstorms beginning late Friday and lasting until Monday.
The temperatures might also dip to near or just below the freezing mark late Saturday into Sunday morning, creating the threat of freezing rain.
Warning Preparedness Meteorologist, Peter Kimbell says the rain will begin Friday night.
"With total amounts probably in excess of 50 mm by the time it's all finished, likely on Monday," he says. "Before it's over, possibly even a little of the white stuff Monday night before Tuesday morning as well."
He expects the heaviest portions will be Saturday and again on Sunday.
