Environment Canada says it's going to be a messy weekend.
A rainfall warning has been issued for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
Significant rainfall and thunderstorms are expected today.
The rain is expected to change to freezing rain late this afternoon over Chatham-Kent, that freezing rain could miss Windsor-Essex.
Another round of rain and thunderstorms are likely again for tomorrow.
Total rainfall amounts for the weekend could hit as much as 50mm.
Meantime, the Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch for the region as well.
Heavy winds over the weekend may cause shoreline flooding and high waves along portions of both the Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair shorelines.
