The Town of Amherstburg will look to improve its heating and cooling system for a community room at the Libro Centre.
On Tuesday, Amherstburg council heard from members of the Fort Malden Golden Age Club, who have been complaining about the system for five years.
Past President Fern Elliott says the room is always cold no matter what the temperature is outside.
She says she's glad council has agreed to put a thermostat in the room. "We need to be able to control the heat and the air condition," says Fern.
She adds some members and out of town visitors have said they don't want to come back. Adding, "it's a beautiful facility, we have are use to being there but we cannot put up with the situation the way it is and seeing our seniors suffer everyday."
Council voted in favour of adding a thermostat in the room so the seniors can adjust the temperature.
Council also gave the CAO permission to spend up to $25,000 to improve the heating and cooling system in the room.
