The summer of the swelter continues in southern Ontario.
Environment Canada has issued another heat warning for a large section of Ontario, including Windsor-Essex. The agency says residents can expect hot, humid conditions to continue through to Wednesday.
Senior Climatologist David Phillips told AM800's 'The Afternoon News' that barring another heat wave to close out the month, temperatures are about average for August.
"On average you get six days in August above 30C this shouldn't be foreign to anybody and maybe by the time the week is over you might add another one to that," says Phillips.
Overall, he says it's been a pretty average summer in terms of the heat.
"The number of days above 30C, if that's your mark of a warm summer; we've had 25-days to date. It normally would be about 20-days," says Phillips. "It's been a few more but last year I think there were about 16 of those suckers right through Labour Day."
Phillips adds the humidity could bring rain over the coming days as the heat breaks.
