A heat warning has been issued for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
Environment Canada says daytime high temperatures are expected to reach above 30C today with the low temperature tonight in the 20's.
Humidex values are also likely to approach 40C this afternoon.
As well, the Windsor Essex County Health Unit has issued Heat Warning.
Some people are at greater risk, especially older adults, infants and young children, people who work or exercise in the heat and those with certain medical conditions.
Warning signs of heat-related illness include dizziness, headache, nausea or vomiting, weakness and confusion.
The health unit has a list of cooling places and recommendations on its website at www.wechu.org
Showers on Saturday and Sunday may provide some relief from the heat over the weekend, with cooler conditions are expected on Monday.
Everyone is advised to drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty, stay in a cool place, seek a cool place such as a tree-shaded area, swimming pool, shower or bath, or air-conditioned spot like a public building.
Also, never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
