History has been made by a Harrow man.

Lionel Sanders, a University of Windsor graduate, has set the fastest time ever at an Ironman competition.

At Sunday's Ironman Arizona, he finished the 2.4-mile swim in 53:45, recorded a time of 4:04:38 in the 112-mile bike trek and finished the 26.22-mile run in 2:42:31.

That established a new Ironman world record of 7:44:29, breaking the old mark of 7:45:58 set by Marino Vanhoenacker at Ironman Austria in 2011.

Sanders will be the 'featured guest' on 'RunningFlat Radio' Tuesday night with Chris Uszynski. That airs from 7 to 8pm on AM800.
