A 16-year-old student from Kennedy High School faces charges of possession of a Weapon Dangerous after an incident today.
Over the noon hour officers were called to Jackson Park near the school where the young man was seen with a pistol in his waistband.
They flooded the area, but the youth fled, tossing the suspected weapon in the bushes.
He took off in a vehicle, but was stopped by the Emergency Services Unit and arrested at gunpoint.
Police did recover the gun, which turned out to be an air pistol.
Windsor Police are reminding people, officers will treat anything that appears to be a weapon as the real thing.
