The Windsor Essex Sports Hall of Fame will be adding eight new members and two teams at the induction ceremony this October.
The new members include, golfer Cheryll Damphouse, hockey player Andy Delmore, basketball star Richard Shaw, and boxer Mary Spencer all going in as part of the athletes category.
There are also four people being inducted into the builders category, and they include Paul Carter, J Paul Reddam, Don Martin, and Domenic Silvaggio.
The teams being inducted are the Tecumseh Baseball Club and the 2011 to 2015 Windsor Lancer Women's Basketball Teams.
Rob Murphy, who is involved with the Tecumseh Baseball Team says the 1992 team was special.
Murphy, a former player and coach with the Tecumseh Baseball Club says they are looking forward to the induction this Fall.
"To get a little recognition for the club to be recognized for the volunteer hours that are put in behind the scenes, it's pretty much run on the back of volunteers and I think it's important and it's nice to be recognized."
Murphy says he loves Lacasse Park.
"The location is tremendous and the fact that it's been there over seven decades is pretty remarkable. Guys like Donnie Fields have left a legacy and I played there as a player and now we're coaching a bit."
The Hall of Fame Class of 2018 will formally be inducted at the Caboto Club on Friday October 19th.
