The Greenway Jam Music Festival is returning to Kingsville this summer with iconic musician's to headline.
The event has announced that the 'Paul Langlois Band', guitarist and songwriter from Canada's iconic band, 'The Tragically Hip', country and western rockers 'The Sadies', east coast multi-award winner 'Joel Plaskett' and Afro-Cuban World Music Juno winners 'OKAN', among many more will all make their way to the Town of Kingsville.
The festival will run from August 11 to August 13.
The festival kicks off at Mettawas Park on the Friday with music featuring the best in international roots, blues, Americana, and world/global music.
On Saturday, the festival takes over the Park with three daytime performance stages, and the main stage performances in the evening.
And on Sunday, Pelee Island Winery will offer an intimate ticketed concert featuring some of the festival's top performers.
Michele Law, Executive Director for the Kingsville Music Society, says it's a busy weekend.
"Friday night is the main stage. Saturday during the day we have daytime stages, two free, one indoors ticketed, and Saturday night the main stage again. And Sunday, we are taking the party to Pelee Island Winery, and having a wine down ticketed concert there for the afternoon."
She says following the COVID-19 pandemic, they're looking forward to hosting this event.
"We're looking forward to getting out, and dancing, and having fun again. We've all had a really tough time the last three or four years. So, we're just hoping to bring some happiness to people and have an opportunity for our volunteers to come out, and people to come and visit the area and spend the weekend."
Law says there is a wide range of acts over the weekend.
"Paul is from The Tragically Hip and will be playing some songs from the Hip as well, as the boys all shared songwriting on all of their songs. So, we're really excited about that. I think it's going to be probably emotional. Joel Plaskett, multiple award winner, Joel Plaskett coming from the east coast, The Sadies from the Toronto area."
The Festival is presented by the Kingsville Music Society, a volunteer run non-profit dedicated to enriching arts and culture in Kingsville and the surrounding area.
