The Windsor Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce is changing it's position on the election debates next month.
After a number of years of only inviting candidates from the 3 major parties, the Green Party is being invited this time.
The debate for candidates of all 3 local ridings takes place at the Ciociaro Club May 17th.
At this point the Green Party only has one candidate nominated, it's Krysta Glovasky-Ridsdale in the Windsor West riding.
She is glad the chamber has opened the door, but thinks it could be opened more.
"I was very happy because I do believe we should have been included from the beginning and I still believe that if they're going to call something an all candidates meeting they should include all candidates from the riding and I do believe we have somebody running from the Trillium Party"
She says she does have some experience in debates.
"I do have experience as far as when I was in university and I've always been a big proponent of the idea of letting people put your position out there and let people have a chance to rebut and give yourself a chance to reply. I have a lot of respect for the debate process"
The Chamber and Windsor And District Labour Council are partnering for the debate event.
