The St. Clair Green Giants were swept by the Lake Erie Monarchs in a doubleheader.
The scores were 7-0 and 9-7.
Game 1
The Monarchs got out to a quick 2-0 lead.
For the next 5 innings the teams traded zeros before Lake Erie put up 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning to take the opener 7-0.
Game 2
The Monarchs jumped out to an early 5-2 lead.
However the Green Giants responded by cutting the lead to 5-3 heading into their final at bat, where Jalen Thomas drove in the tying runs with a sharp single to right center field.
In the 11th inning Monarchs right fielder Ryan Fournier hit a grand slam to left field, giving Lake Erie a 9-5 lead.
In the bottom half Conor Mckenna hit a 2 run home run for the Green Giants but that is all the St. Clair offense could muster in dropping a 9-7 decision.
The Green Giants now hold the final playoff spot and will need a win to tonight against Irish Hills Leprechauns to keep control of that spot.
First pitch will go at Tecumseh's Lacasse Park at 7:05 pm.
