The St. Clair Green Giants snapped their six game losing streak last night with a 6-3 win over the Irish Hills Leprechauns.
The much needed win moves St. Clair's record to 14-12 as they head into the stretch run.
The Green Giants got a solid start from Brad Verel who went 5.2 innings, giving up 2 runs while striking out 5 to improve his season record to 4-2.
Michael Mueller was solid in relief and Kevin Kyle earned his 4th save of the year working a 1-2-3 ninth inning to preserve the win.
St. Clair took control of the game in the sixth inning when they tallied 4 runs to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
Standout players on offense for St. Clair were Ty Barclay who went 2-3 with a double and 2 runs and Conor Mckenna who went 2-4 with a walk stolen base and RBI.
The Green Giants will now head into a two day layoff before hitting the road on Saturday July 8th when they head to Muskegon to take on the Muskegon Clippers.
