The Great Waterfront Trail Adventure gets rolling from Pelee Island this weekend
150 cyclists start a week-long trek to the Toronto area on Sunday.
Spokesperson Marlaine Koehler says they plan to cover about 100 km a day.
Koehler says while the ride may begin August 6th, many cyclists will be in the area early to enjoy what Windsor-Essex has to offer. "We've encouraged a lot of people to come and spend the weekend in Windsor-Essex because you have so many terrific trails. People are stunned and very impressed when they come down to Windsor-Essex, what a beautiful place it is and how many great things there are to do once they arrive."
The riders will take the trail 550km from Point Pelee National Park to Rouge National Urban Park.
The cyclists are expected to arrive in Toronto by next weekend.
