2018 is not over yet but it's already been the deadliest year ever on the Great Lakes.
That's according to updated drowning statistics released November 7 by the Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project.
The water safety non-profit group reports there have been 110, the first time over 100 drownings have been recorded in the Great Lakes.
There were 88 in 2017 and 99 in 2016.
The updated statistics show there have been 39 drownings in Lake Michigan, 35 in Lake Erie, 22 in Lake Ontario, 8 in Lake Huron and 6 in Lake Superior.
