Multiple sources have confirmed Sara Anne Widholm died Saturday at Windsor Regional Hospitals Met Campus

AM800 News has learned the victim of a brutal attack in east Windsor has passed.

Multiple sources have confirmed Sara Anne Widholm died Saturday at Windsor Regional Hospital's Met Campus.

It's unclear if she ever regained consciousness after the attack that happened while she was on her daily walk along the Ganatchio Trail back in October of 2017.

Widholm sustained multiple brain hemorrhages, a blood clot on the surface of her brain, extensive skull-fractures, and fractured vertebrae in her neck, a lacerated scalp and a badly bruised face

Habibullah Ahmad, 21, who goes by the name Daniel, is charged with attempted murder.

AM800 News has calls out to Windsor police to confirm if those charges will be upgraded following Widholm's death.

She was 76-years-old.
