The Windsor Police Service is one of 17 in Ontario that will receive a funding boost from the provincial government.
$99,608 has been announced for the Windsor Police "Exit Strategy Plan."
The plan assists officers with advanced technology and training to enhance their ability to identify both victims of human trafficking and perpetrators.
The province is committing $1.5 million for 21 projects to help police fight human trafficking, disrupt outlaw motorcycle gang activity, support victims and address mental health issues.
The funding comes from the Civil Remedies Grant Program.
