Officials at the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence plan to examine how a lockdown was handled following a knife incident at one of its schools.
OPP were called to L'Essor High School in Tecumseh late Tuesday morning for a report of a student with a knife.
The school principal immediately issued a lockdown while police responded.
Director Joseph Picard says he was worried about the people at the school when he was notified. "Right off the bat, as you hear these things, you have that level of concern. Then obviously it clicks in, for lack of a better term, OK this is the situation that's taking place, what has to be done."
No weapon was located and the lockdown was lifted almost two hours later.
Picard says they will now look at how the incident was handled. "The school principal will meet with a police representative and will go over the entire situation, try and look at things from the perspective of what worked well or what needs to be improved on, if we have to improve on things."
