The Windsor Spitfires see their fourth consecutive win after a 6-3 win against the Sarnia Sting.
In the first period, Sarnia took the first goal of the night during a powerplay within four minutes of the game starting. Ryan Abraham of the Spitfires, however, tied the game up. With just under six minutes left in the first, the Spitfires got their first powerplay of the night after a five minute major for head-checking.
During their powerplay, the Spits got called for too many men on the ice, bringing the game to a four on four. With less than a minute until the end of the first period, Windsor's Colton Smith scored his first goal as a Spitfire, giving the Spits a 2-1 lead going into the second.
In the second period, Windsor pulls away even further after another goal by Colton Smith less than three minutes into the period. Another goal by the Spits goes to Nicholas DeAngelis, his first of the season, bringing the score up to 4-1.
Less than a minute later, Windsor's Jacob Maillet kept the heat rolling with another goal. The final score at the end of the second period sat at 5-1 for Windsor.
A slow start in the third period, however halfway through the Sting get their second goal, still leaving the Spitfires in a comfortable position with the scoreboard at 5-2.
With 4 minutes left in the period, Sarnia pulled their goalie, making it six on five. With two and half minutes left, the Sting score, bringing the score to 5-3. With just 30 seconds left in the third, Windsor's Ryan Abraham scores his second of the night giving the Spitfires a 6-3 win against Sarnia.
Windsor's next game will be October 15 in Owen Sound. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
