The fourth annual Taste of Tecumseh is under at Lakewood Park.
Drinks, food, and entertainment are on tap both Friday and Saturday nights. Maria Giolando is the Vice-President of the Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach. She spoke with AM800's Patty Handysides on The Afternoon News.
Giolando says the event is for adults, but all money raised goes to the kids.
"A fishing derby, a family fun fair, as well we donate to various causes in the town," she says. "We do a lot of sporting events and because of the funding from the Taste of Tecumseh and a lot of children are able to play sports for free and do other things such as get scholarships."
She says organizers tried to create an atmosphere that anyone can enjoy.
"I think that we have something for everybody to do whether you just like to relax and mingle or you like to dance or you just want to drink wine and hang out with friends," says Giolando. "There's a large gated area at Lakewood Park with a huge tent where Big Wiggle is going to be playing, there are vendors for food, wine, and breweries. We have Hiram Walker this year and just a big open area where everyone can socialize."
Gates are open from 5pm to 1am both Friday and Saturday.
Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door — the event is 19 years and up.
