Four operators are seeking to take over the daycare program at the John McGivney Children's Centre as it moves to contract out operations.
All four operators that submitted a proposal before the April 21st deadline are from Windsor-Essex.
CEO Elaine Whitmore cites a $100,000 dollar a year deficit and a stagnant wait list of about 20 children for making the move. Whitmore attributes the deficit largely to the specialized demands of their daycare program. "Part of that is driven by the high percentage of children with complex special needs that are in the program and require additional support and services."
There are currently 38 children in the daycare program.
Whitmore expects the review of the four proposals will take a few weeks.
She hopes to have the new daycare operator running the program by July or August.
