Four people have been charged with impaired driving after separate incidents over the weekend, including three at the border.

Shortly after midnight Sunday, Windsor police responded to the 4600 block of Seminole Street after receiving a report of an unresponsive person inside a running vehicle. Police say officers observed signs of impairment and located suspected fentanyl, cannabis and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

A 41-year-old woman was arrested and transported to Windsor Police headquarters, where she reportedly failed a drug recognition expert test.

At around the same time, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers at the Ambassador Bridge stopped a driver showing signs of impairment. Police say a 23-year-old man failed roadside and station breath tests, registering three times the legal limit.

A few hours later, CBSA officers at the Gordie Howe International Bridge stopped another driver who was allegedly impaired. Police say a breath test on a 23-year-old woman registered three times the legal limit.

Then, shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sunday, CBSA officers at the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel stopped a female driver allegedly displaying signs of impairment. Police say the 29-year-old driver was arrested and failed a breath test.

Police remind motorists that impaired driving puts everyone at risk and urge anyone who suspects an impaired driver to call 911 immediately.
