The Hamilton Bulldogs of the OHL say the team's head coach is home and resting.
Dave Matsos, the former Assistant Coach for the Spitfires, was taken to the hospital after collapsing on the team's bench in a game against the Barrie Colts on Saturday.
He collapsed in the final seconds but was alert and responsive when taken to hospital for what the league said were "precautionary measures."
According to the team's Twitter, he was released from Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Monday — he is resting comfortably at home with his family.
We are pleased to let everyone know that Coach Matsos was released from Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie earlier today. He is resting comfortably at home with his family. We’d like to thank the staff at Royal Victoria for the support they’ve provided over the last couple of days
