Former Essex MP Jeff Watson is getting back into politics.
On his Facebook Page, Watson announced he is running in Alberta for the new 'United Conservative Party" in its upcoming provincial election in 2019.
"As a Conservative Member of Parliament for nearly 12 years, I served along side Jason Kenney and Stephen Harper defending Alberta's interests and helping them deliver over 400,000 Alberta jobs," he says.
Watson lost to Tracey Ramsey in Essex in the last federal election in 2015.
Watson and his family then moved to Alberta where he says he spent the last year travelling to 'every region of Alberta working to unite the PCs and Wildrose to create the new United Conservative Party and ensure Jason Kenney was elected as its first leader.'
He is running in the riding of Calgary-Peigan.
