A change of heart for a former Essex town councillor.
John Scott says he's no longer interested in the vacant ward 3 council seat.
He sent a letter to members of council along with administration this morning saying he did not want to be considered for the vacancy if council decides to appoint the "runner-up" from the 2014 election.
Scott lost by only seven votes to Bill Caixeiro.
In the letter he states a by-election is the best and most democratic way to decide who represents the ward.
Scott moved to Windsor following the last election.
As heard on AM800 news on Tuesday, Bill Caixeiro resigned from council citing personal reasons.
Town council will go over its options on July 17th.
Council could appoint an individual, hold a by-election or keep the seat vacant.
