Ford is issuing a recall notice.
The automaker is recalling roughly 550,000 cars and SUVs in North America to fix a gearshift problem.
The company says the problem could cause vehicles to roll away unexpectedly.
Ford says a bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission can fall off.
The recall is for certain 2013 through 2016 Fusion sedans and some 2013 and 2014 Escape small SUVs.
Ford has said it does not know of any crashes or injuries.
Dealers will replace the shifter bushing at no cost.
The company plans to notified owners by July 30th.
The parts are expected to be available later this quarter.
