A convenience store in Windsor's Ford City neighbourhood is giving back to people and families in need.
Charron’s Quality Market has been collecting donations, tips and small change left behind by generous patrons.
As a result of those collections, the owners plan to give out $20 food vouchers to people that are in need of help.
A total of 110 vouchers for $20 worth of free groceries from the store will be available between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Family Day, Monday, Feb. 20.
Store owner Samir Zoura says people know they've been doing this for a few years now.
"The same people that use it sometimes, they give back. They give back to the same fund and it builds up over time," he says.
Zoura says there's a lot of people who need help.
"Not everybody can afford to buy food all the time. A lot of times many people run short because money is not enough, especially now with prices and inflation going up. We know that they need it now, more than any other time," he adds.
Charron's Quality Market is located at 2757 Whelpton St., just off Drouillard Road.
