The Leamington Flyers have added an experienced goaltender for their 2019-2020 Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League season.
Leamington has picked up Matthew Waite from Cowichan Valley in the British Columbia Hockey League.
Waite, who is the son of former NHL goaltender Jimmy Waite and will be attending the University of Windsor this year, has also played two seasons with the Moncton Wildcats in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
To bring in Waite, the Flyers have sent goalie, Zach Borgiel to Cowichan Valley.
“We love Matt because he’s a veteran goalie with experience at the next level,” said Flyers General Manager, Justin Solcz. “We expect him to be a leader and hope we can help him develop and transition into playing at the USport level next year.”
The Flyers’ training camp runs from Friday August 16th to Sunday, August 18th at the Kinsmen Recreation Complex.
