Lakeshore continues its push to battle flooding throughout the municipality.
The town held an open house Tuesday night to unveil Phase 1 of its Stormwater Master Plan study.
Director of Engineering and Infrastructure Nelson Cavacas says the initial phase deals with the area of from Duck Creek to the town's western limits.
"This is going to be a multi-year phased approach," says Cavacas. "We have a new phase in other areas as well to complete the study and identify areas where we can make some improvements and create a prioritization list of where we need to invest some infrastructure funding."
He says a major part of the plan is letting the public know what help is available to them.

Educating the public is another big part of this where some of the subsidies that are available to help them assist in protecting this homes. So the education and that funding is key to help residents as well," says Cavacas.
He says, as the town continues to grow, infrastructure needs are changing.
"We're also looking at our current design standards and determining whether our standards need to be increased as well. The Essex Region Conservation Authority is looking at it regionally as well for climate change aspect impacts as well."
According to town officials, there has seen a spike in residents taking advantage of the town's flooding subsidy program since the last major flooding event in August 2017.
Residents who couldn't make it to Tuesday night's meeting are encouraged to go to the town's website for more information on what's in store for the Stormwater Master Plan.
