A flood watch has been issued by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.
Due to current high lake levels and winds at 25 to 40km/hour, gusting to 65km/hour, there is a potential for shore erosion.
Areas affected include the west side of Point Pelee, Leamington, Kingsville, Essex and the west and south shorelines of Pelee Island.
Pelee Island's west shoreline has experienced 'significant' damage as a result of recent high lake levels and winds--including erosion close to a travelled road.
The watch is in effect until Friday at 9am
