A test of the new national public alert system this afternoon saw many, but not all mobile devices in Ontario go off this afternoon.
The flaw in the Ontario testing came hours after a glitch caused problems with the alert being sent to mobile devices in Quebec this morning.
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission ordered wireless providers to implement the system to distribute warnings of imminent safety threats such as tornadoes, floods, Amber Alerts or terrorist threats.
Further tests are scheduled for the rest of Canada for Wednesday.
