The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) reported five new cases of COVID-19 and one more death Saturday.
A man in his 80's died Friday, according to the health unit. Essex County's total now sits at 767 confirmed cases — 63 people have died and 407 have made a full recovery.
According to the health unit, 13,789 individuals have been tested for COVID-19 locally with 1,146 tests pending.
As of 8am Sunday, numbers from CTV News show 22,313 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Ontario with 1,858 deaths — there are 1,251 new cases of the virus Canada-wide for a total of 75,864 and 5,679 deaths.
According to CTV, 37,819 people have recovered from the virus across Canada, making the total active cases 32,366.
