The Town of LaSalle is set to open its first splash pad. It's located outside of the Vollmer Centre on Laurier Pkwy. and will open on Saturday.
Director of Recreation & Culture Julie Columbus says it's an exciting time for the municipality.
"We're inviting residents and visitors to come from 1 to 5 out at the Vollmer Recreation Complex," says Columbus. "We're going to have the grand opening of the splash pad. Speeches will be at two o'clock. We have the ceremony dunk of all council members of our super soaker, we'll have a ribbon cutting shortly there after at 2:15pm."
Columbus says she's proud with how the splash pad turned out.
"It's the first splash pad in our municipality," says Columbus. "There is another one in Amherstburg and a couple others, one in Lakeshore and throughout the county but for LaSalle it's our first one and it's a great project."
