Five students receive 1,000 for post secondary education.
A handful local high school graduates are getting some help with their post-secondary education courtesy of Windsor-Essex FIRST Robotics.
Five $1,000 bursaries have been handed out in honour of James Broom and Spencer James — the pair were integral to the local robotics scene and both passed away in 2014.
FIRST Robotics is a high school program where students work alongside professional mentors in the creation of robots.
More than 1,000 students make up over 80 robotics teams in Windsor-Essex and Chatam-Kent.
