It's a first in Canada, a business oriented cannabis conference.
The event held at the Roma Club in Leamington attracted people either in the cannabis business or looking to get in.
It was organized by The Cannalysts, who follow and critique the industry and Grant-Thornton an accounting and business solutions company.
Andrew Udell is Managing Director of The Cannalysts and is impressed with the buy-in.

"200 plus industry leaders in one of the tightest conferences I've seen, subject matter experts, knowledgeable people come together and present an economic development opportunity and showcase in this area"
Tricia Leblanc is the National Cannabis Industry Leader at Grant Thornton and believes the timing is right with the recreational market going legal.

"We thought it was time, it was a good time to get everybody together to have a conversation. So this is the industry talking to each other. And I just think that is really, really powerful for the industry to be doing that"
Leblanc is a bit surprised at the draw of the event.
"I knew there would be a lot of industry that would come to the table I had no idea we would get representation from all over the country and from the US as well, there are people here who want to see what we're doing, they want to understand what we're doing because Canada genuinely is at the forefront here"
Udell says the industry is making up the rules as it goes and a conference like this one is a key to growing the sector.
Leblanc is impressed at the energy of the people attending the event.
The keynote speaker was Aphria CEO Vic Neufeld.
Udell confirms there will definitely be a WEcann 2019.
