Most businesses and amenities remain closed over the Victoria Day Weekend, but you can still treat the family to a backyard fireworks display.
Bylaws allow fireworks for Victoria Day and K & H Fireworks at 11684 County Road 42 in Tecumseh, Ont. is open for curbside service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pyrotechnician and owner Victor Anber spoke with AM800's Patty Handysides on The Afternoon News. He says they've had to make some adjustments, but things are going well so far.
"In the past we had like 15 or 20 people wandering around in our warehouse looking at things and dealing with our reps to get what suits their back yard, but now we're trying to do our best on the phone as well as email orders for curbside pickup," he says.
Anber says company has had a website running for a few years, so logistics on site is the biggest challenge.
"It made the transition a little bit easier but we had to set up our yard for parking and sanitation of things that we had to add on a more consistent basis," says Anber.
He says they're ready to help those who may not be comfortable using the website or email.
"We'll bring them out a catalogue they can keep, a piece of paper and a pencil and they can place their order and we'll go inside and fill it," he says. "My people are wearing masks, gloves and sanitizing the debit machines every use so I think we've got it under control."
The depot is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday and orders can be made by phone or through the company's website.
