Windsor Fire and Rescue Services (WFRS) is hiring.
The online application process opened up on Wednesday and will close on July 24th and 12noon.
"We started the process now so that we can be ready come March or April of next year," says Executive Director of Human Resources with the City of Windsor, Vincenza Mihalo."It depends on the number of retirements in terms of exactly how many people we're going to be hiring, but it does look like we have a number of firefighters that will be retiring."
According to Mihalo, the online application process has worked well for the past few years and she finds it quicker and easier to communicate with applicants.
"We can send them information quickly, in terms of where the written test is, where the physical is, where they stand in terms of the process, and if they have any questions with us it's an easier form of communication if we do it online," she says.
Mihalo says they are expecting about 1,200 applicants — and the process is open to anyone across the country.
