The cause of a $100,000 fire that has left a man in critical condition has been listed as accidental.
An investigator with the Ontario Fire Marshall's office has concluded his probe of the fire which occured early Saturday morning at a home on Curry Avenue just north of Tecumseh Road West.
Dave Emberlin says this was a case of a frying pan being left on the stove.

He says there was no fault with the electric stove. "I had an engineer here who has examined the cooking appliance, the stove, and it was functioning properly but that's the ignition source for the fire."
Emberlin says he's done with his work at the scene and is turning the house back to the next of kin to have it boarded up and secured.
The man who was injured in the fire remains in a Detroit hospital listed in critical condition.
A close friend says his progress today will determine how his recovery goes.
